Description:
First off, we'll take a look at how to use MongoDB, as a developer, in a platform and programming language agnostic way - that means querying, indexing, modifying, a few concurrency handling strategies, map/reduce, and an intro to the new aggregation framework.
Then we'll take a look at how to operate MongoDB - we'll sketch a few serious deployment configurations, and discuss strategies for handling backups and failover.
Towards the end, we'll take a look at some of the numbers surrounding MongoDB, and we'll put them into perspective - e.g. to see why the discussion of MongoDB's durability story never seems to cease.
Attendees are assumed to be familiar with the fact that there are alternatives to relational databases, and a non-hostile attitude towards JavaScript is an advantage.
